Datakoot browser extensions · Last updated: August 2026
This policy covers the family of Datakoot browser extensions — FX Bar, Weather Now, CVE Lookup, Package Guard, Domain X-ray, Filing Peek, Economy Snapshot, Reg Watch, and Base Scope. Plain English, no tricks.
Each extension sends the specific thing you look up (for example, a CVE ID, a currency pair, a package name, an address, or — for tools with the activeTab permission — the domain of the tab you're on when you click the icon) to Datakoot's API in order to return your result. Nothing else about your browsing is read or transmitted.
The only data stored is on your device, using Chrome's local storage: your display preferences and, if you upgrade to Pro, your Pro license key so you don't have to re-enter it. This never leaves your browser and is not sent to us.
Results come from public and official sources (e.g., the National Vulnerability Database, SEC EDGAR, the European Central Bank, NWS/NOAA, USGS, the World Bank, and the U.S. Federal Register), retrieved through Datakoot's services.
storage — saves your preferences and Pro key locally. activeTab (some extensions) — reads only the current tab's domain, only when you click the extension. No background access.
